I am back!
Ok, I know I haven’t been around in a long while but I promise to do my best to change that.

Sebastian had been put back on the anitbiotics and was not handling them very well after my last post. So we took him off of them…that was around mid September. It looked like he was on the mend…the mass that caused the infection was not coming back and his neck was healing nicely. Then on September 29th I was outside with the dogs playing and noticed something funny about Sebastian’s neck so I called for him to come over to me. I felt his neck and the mass was back and the poor thing was in so much pain from me touching his neck. I decided it was time and took him in the house to show my Mom. I told her it was time and she agreed so we called the vet and made the appointment for later that day to have him put down. That was one of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make in my life! Saying goodbye to him was really hard but I know it was something that had to be done to keep him pain free. Tomorrow will be 1 month and it has been really hard. Chien is so depressed over losing his buddy and Oliver has had tummy troubles over it…we have all been struggling. Especially since this was Sebastian’s favorite time of year…he loved to crunch in the leaves and play in them. Oh and did I mention one of the birds had died not long before Sebastian. So it has been a hard couple of months here.
Last night I looked at Sebastian’s neck and where the abscess was looked a little big so I touched it and it started to drain! UGH! I am frustrated!!
Sebastian seems to be doing well. He is tolerating the antibiotics very well. The abscess/mass (whatever you want to call it) didn’t drain today so that is a good thing!
Today Mom and I went shopping at the Home Depot in South Hill and when we left the store there was a double rainbow. I quickly reached in my purse for my camera and got this pic! So pretty!

Oliver turned 2 on Thursday, May 7, 2009! He has turned into a wonderfully loving and silly little doggie!!! Here are a few pictures that I took on his birthday!
Well, I took Sebastian to the vet today for a check up and to be checked for Lyme Disease and Heart Worm. The test came back negative for Lyme Disease and Heart Worm so that is good. The bad is that the wound on his neck started to get big again and drain so he is back on antibiotics. Now the vet sent out for it to be cultured…hopefully something comes of that! I wish we knew what was causing this abcess/wound…whatever you want to call it. I just want it to heal!!
I can’t believe that I haven’t blogged in over a month. The end of March and all of April were crazy for me…Sebastian (my bulldog) had a mass on the side of his neck and ended up having 2 operations to remove and drain it and a long time recovery period. I think he is just about recovered now as it hasn’t been draining or getting bigger again. There have been lots of other things going on too…I won’t get into everything. I hope to start posting regularly again now that things have settled down.
Happy St. Patty’s Day!! Mom and I are out to dinner and I just had to test out my new toy!! So here is my first blog entry on my netbook!! WOOHOO!!!!
